Sound Design by Mike Krybus16tausend (2023) The troubling relationship between father and son becomes apparent during their hiking trip through the woods.
My graduation project gave me the opportunity to underline and match the storytelling by using lot’s of different ambience sounds from the forest. It served as a separate entity of the story, reflecting the characters emotions with the use of sounds such as creaking trees, rustling leaves and wind gusts, but also by relying on the absence of sounds you typically associate with such a setting, creating a unique but fitting atmosphere.
This project also required lot’s of foley sounds, such as a variety of footsteps, props and bodymotions.Directed by Vincent Graf

Sound Design by Mike KrybusThe Organist (360° Full Dome Short Film) (2022) Long-suppressed traumatic memories resurface frequently in the daily life of an organist, becoming increasingly vivid, almost too excruciating to bear. His boundaries of reality blur as distant thunder rumbles outside a peaceful church service, triggering the horrors of his past.
Based on Bertolt Brecht's 'Die Orgel', The Organist tells an immersive audio-visual story of remembering and reliving traumatic events, as well as experiencing the impact of this recurrence.Supervising Sound Editor: Mike Krybus
